If you have opted to pack yourself instead of having Mulder’s Moving and Storage pack, you will want to start as soon as possible. As soon as you know that you are moving, pack the items that you do not need for a while. For example, if it is summer, pack your winter possessions away. Then, start on your difficult areas like basement storage and garage. While time is on your side, you will be much less stressed when packing.
You will want to catch up on laundry a couple of days before move day, moving clean clothes will be much less stressful than trying to catch up on laundry when you are still unpacking in your new home. Also, remove artwork and wall appliances and have them packed and ready.
You should aim to pack your last box the day before moving day. Don’t forget about your essential totes!
I want to make sure that I get all packed before the big moving day. Maybe it would be a good idea to get professionals to help me pack up! That way I can ensure that I get it all done in a timely manner.
